This is a vintage early 1950s skirt suit made in an attractive plum or eggplant colour. The jacket to this 1950s skirt suit has a rounded “peter pan” style collar, long sleeves with turned cuffs, a six button closure and has an interesting rounded detail below the collar as well as circular pockets below that detail. The buttons are metal, each studded with a rhinestone in its centre. The jacket is cut with an accented waist and has a longer silhouette. The skirt to this 1950s skirt suit has a pleated front - the pleated panel wraps around the front and snaps at the back side so that the wearer is not sitting on pleats (see photo of back of skirt). The skirt is made in a mid-calf length. The jacket is fully lined and the skirt is unlined.
Fabric label: None, but this 1950s skirt suit is made of a wool faille
