This is a wonderful handbag type purse covered in coloured plastic coil or “telephone cord”.  The purse has a cloth strap handle that is covered in coil and affixed to the purse with a metal ring on either end.  The purse is very colorful with cabling in colors of green, yellow, white, blue and red.  The purse closes with a brass zipper at the top - the zipper has a cable pull.  The purse is finished on the interior with black grosgrain fabric - it has a small pocket built onto one side.  The exterior is made of rust brown colored fabric that is entirely covered with plastic coil. 

It is in very good condition with the exception of some wear to the fabric around the zipper area and also the upper interior fabric - still very usable.  Also, the fabric is doubled on the underside of the strap, but the top layer is unstitched in the center area on one side.

Age: 1950s, maybe late 40s

Sizing:  11” by 7” high by 3” in depth. The handle has a drop of 7 1/2”. 

This is quite the striking example of one of these telephone cord purses - great colours, sure to be noticed....
