This is a gorgeous 1920s flapper dress made of gold toned metallic lace over a gold and green lamé under slip.  The gown is quite stunning with a beaded floral decorative applique at the front. The dress is made in a simple style with cap sleeves, crossover bodice and V shaped neckline. The lace is formed in a floral pattern, quite beautiful. The dress has a beaded and sequined silk floral applique at the front in tones of red, pink and green. It has an asymmetrical hemline. The dress comes with its original gold lamé over green silk slip. The slip is hand embroidered, sequined and beaded along its hemline - please note the condition of the slip as stated below.

Age: 1920s

Label: Stutzman & Sage Exclusive Gowns Paris New York (applied to the slip only)

Color: Metallic gold and green with red, pink and green decoration

Material: Metallic lace, lamé and silk Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the style of the dress into consideration):

Slip:

Bust: 37” around, taken at the opening

Waist: 37” around

Overall length: 37" measured flat

Dress:

Bust: 48” around, taken under the arm openings - this dress is meant to be somewhat larger due to the underslip and the delicacy of the fabric, as this dress goes over the head with no other openings.

Waist: 42” around, meant to be loose

Overall length: 49”, measured flat, to the longest part of the hemline

Condition: The lace dress is in excellent condition with no breaks to the lace or other notable issues. The slip, however, is not in good condition -please note the last four photos of the slip. There are a five large rust colored stains to the silk under fabric, three at the hemline and two at the waistline. There are a couple of small holes in the stained areas due to the corrosive effect of the stain over time. The gold lame over fabric has developed fraying over the stained areas at the waistline, I guess due to the corrosive effect of the stain. There is another small frayed area towards the hemline and there is some “puckering” of the lamé at the underarm area and towards the hemline, but the fabric still appears to have some strength. The slip is usable although the stains are noticeable with the lace dress over it, but it definitely will need some work to avoid further fraying or deterioration - the stains could be dealt with perhaps with matching coloured patching. Still, the lace dress is really gorgeous and worth the asking price on its own. This is an exceptional 1920s metallic lace evening dress, with a Paris / New York fashion house label....
