This is a very nice quality men’s fedora made in England for the Henry Morgan Co. of Montreal.  The lining is marked with “Burnside Made Expressly for Henry Morgan & Co. Limited Montreal” while the sweatband is stamped with “Made in England Expressly for Henry Morgan & Co. Limited Montreal”.  Henry Morgan was a venerable Montreal department store with a history dating to 1845 and purported to be Canada’s first department store.  The moniker “Morgan’s” began usage, I believe, around 1957, so this hat pre-dates that year, and most likely dates to the early 50s.  It is made in a very attractive gray color that is in a bluish gray tonal range and has a rather tall crown with medium width brim.  It is lined in a tan/taupe satin lining, covered with plastic at the top.  It has a leather sweatband.  The crown measures 5” in height while the brim measures 2 1/4” in width.  The opening measures about 22 1/8” in diameter around the sweatband and 6 3/8” by 7 5/8”, so should accommodate a size 7 to 7 1/8 head.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or soiling - there is some slight marking to the sweatband and lining, but it is quite acceptable.  I noticed a small light stain on the left brim towards the back, quite minor, but I haven’t attempted to remove it nor have I had the hat cleaned - a professional hat shop would most likely make this hat look great.

This is a wonderful English fedora from a quality Canadian retailer - excellent hat!
